Vitamin B12 Tablets
Vitamin B12 tablets in Pakistan, 500 mcg per tablet, for energy, nerve function and healthy red blood cells. B12 is the one vitamin you cannot get from plants. It exists in meat, fish, eggs and dairy and nowhere else, which makes it the nutrient most likely to be missing from a diet built on daal, roti and sabzi. Your liver holds a store of it for years, so a shortfall builds quietly. By the time it shows as constant tiredness or tingling in your hands and feet, it has usually been developing a long while.
One tablet daily. Suitable for men and women.
Why Use It
Vitamin B12 deficiency is easy to miss because it arrives so slowly. The early signs, tiredness, low mood, trouble concentrating, get blamed on workload or weather. The later ones, numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, get noticed but rarely connected.
What it does:
- Supports energy production, converting food into usable energy
- Supports healthy nerve function and the myelin sheath protecting your nerves
- Supports red blood cell formation, which is why deficiency shows as a distinctive anaemia
- Supports normal cognition, mood and concentration
- Works alongside folate, since the two are closely linked in how your body uses them
Vitamin B12 benefits for men
Men lose B12 for the same reasons anyone does, but two things make it worth checking. Diabetes and long-term metformin use are common among Pakistani men, and metformin depletes B12 over time. And the earliest signs, low energy, poor focus, low mood, are the ones men are most likely to write off as overwork rather than raise with a doctor.
B12 supports energy metabolism, nerve function and normal cognitive performance. If you are tired in a way that sleep does not fix, a B12 level is a cheap thing to check.
Vitamin B12 benefits for women
Women are more likely to be low in B12 in Pakistan, largely because meat consumption is often lower within a household and because the demands of pregnancy and breastfeeding draw on stores.
Two points matter particularly. B12 works with folate, so if you take a folic acid supplement, and most women planning a pregnancy do, your B12 should be checked alongside it, because folate taken alone can hide the blood signs of a B12 shortfall. And B12 deficiency anaemia is easily confused with the iron deficiency anaemia that is far more commonly assumed here. They are not the same and iron will not fix one of them.
Why 500 mcg is enough, when others sell 2000. Your body absorbs B12 two ways. The main route needs a stomach protein called intrinsic factor and saturates around 2 mcg per dose, however large the tablet. The second is passive diffusion straight through the gut wall, which takes up roughly 1% of a dose and never saturates. That 1% is why oral B12 works at all. From 500 mcg it delivers about 5 mcg, comfortably above the 2.4 mcg you need daily. Larger doses scale the same 1%. Taking it every day matters more than the number on the pack.
If you take folic acid tablets. Folate and B12 are connected, and folate on its own can mask the blood signs of a B12 shortfall while the nerve effects continue. If you take a folic acid or prenatal supplement, mention it to your doctor and have your B12 checked too.
